Your avatar on the Home page can evolve into a new form when you have accumulated enough EXPs, which can be obtained by doing a course and mission. After getting a notification that it's ready to evolve, head back to the Home page and tap your avatar to evolve it. Your avatar may have several forms that can be unlocked by evolving it multiple times.
